Dear Families,
I hope you had a great experience at PTSC and had an opportunity to connect with the advisor as well as hear your child's reflection on their experience this marking period.
On Monday, students will bring home two important items in their backpacks: 1) a paper copy of the school survey if you prefer paper to electronics and 2) the mid-year ELA and Math MAP data. The MAP results are just one piece of information about your child's performance this year. Adding this to their academic and work habit scores helps to create a fuller picture of their performance and effort.
Teachers will be using this MAP data to begin an inquiry cycle that examines the data, determines a pattern, utilizes a root cause protocol, and then creates an action plan to increase student achievement. We are all excited to begin this work.
If you have questions about the MAP data, please reach out to your child's advisor, and they will direct your question to the appropriate staff member.
Best,
Valerie

UPDATED QUARANTINE POLICY 1/31/22 - Based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and New York State Department of Health (DOH) guidance, the New York City Department of Education (DOE) has shortened the isolation period for K-12 students with a positive COVID-19 test result from 10 days to 5 days. This means if your child tests positive for COVID-19 and is in kindergarten or higher, your child can return to school on Day 6 if they have no symptoms or their symptoms are improving, and they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Students returning from isolation on Day 6 must wear a well-fitting mask such as a KN95, KF94, or a cloth mask over a disposable surgical mask on Days 6–10.
