Afterschool Activites
Manhattan Youth (MY) offers free afterschool activities for enrolled students every school day. Working closely with the principal and faculty, MY assembles programs that support the culture and curriculum of the school. MY provides a complete extracurricular program, including interscholastic sports teams, school plays, STEM, literacy and arts enrichment activities, and daily homework support.
Manhattan Youth handles all aspects of the competitive sports teams. Any student who signs up for team sports activities will play competitive games against other NYC middle schools. These athletes will wear uniforms representing 75 Morton and Manhattan Youth.
To begin your registration for this school year, please use this guide to complete your child's profile on DiscoverDYCD.
You will find our school and program by typing in "M.S. 297" when it comes time to search for a program. We encourage ALL to complete their child's DiscoverDYCD profile PRIOR to selecting their activities. Any class selections received without a completed DiscoverDYCD profile will be considered incomplete and WILL be deleted.

Our Fall 2024 schedule is still being worked on, but you can use this link to see activity descriptions for activities we have offered in the past. Class/Activity selection will begin in late August or early September. Please keep in mind that space in specific MY activities is offered on a first come, first served basis at the time of registration. MY cannot guarantee that your student will get their first choice of afterschool activity.
The MY Middle School program is funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development.
